Mermaid Beach
Mermaid Beach is a southern suburb of the Gold Coast and is bordered to the west by the man-made canals of Mermaid Waters.
To the north of Mermaid Beach is Broadbeach, to the south is Miami but retains a relaxed, beachside atmosphere despite being so close to the hub of the city. This is partly due to the significant drop in high rises from Mermaid Beach onwards after leaving the sky high suburbs of Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach.

Palm Beach
One of the best beaches in Queensland, Palm Beach is a stunning south beach side suburb of the Gold Coast, which remains less developed compared to some of its northern neighbours. Palm Beach is very popular, where the surf is outstanding and is a great spot for a picnic and good for families of all ages and sizes.

Palm Beach has excellent surfing and fishing, particularly in the winter months. Go swimming, head to the local life saving club or try one of the many local caravan parks.

Take a walk to the north where there is a small rock wall, try during the high tide around the holes to either side for some fine catches or just take a break along a nice little board walk with table and chairs for a relaxing lunch or twilight dinner as the sun sets.

Surfers Paradise is located about a 40 minute journey south along the eight lane Pacific Motorway from Brisbane.

Trains run at regular intervals from Brisbane to the Gold Coast. Bus connections to Surfers Paradise are available from the Helensvale, Robina and Varsity Lakes stations.

It's not called 'Surfers Paradise' for nothing, so it's no surprise the main attraction is the 10km wide white sandy beach. The warm water has excellent swell for surfing and the beach is patrolled by life guards all year round. Swimmers and surfers have been visiting the beaches for decades to ride the consistant small but flowing swell. The beach itself is a haven for sunbathers for basking in the sun or maybe challenge your friends to a game of beach volleyball, experiencing a range of thrilling water sports or relax and take in a movie at the beach cinema.

If you've had enough of the sand and the sun, relax in a beachfront cafe, enjoying an all day breakfast. There are also many restaurants, night clubs and bars to experience the nightlife or head into the lively Cavill Mall, with its colourful shopping, cafes and quirky entertainment. Visit the famous Ripley's Believe It Or Not museum and the unnerving Waxworks museum.
It is also home to many attractions from bungy jumping and theme parks to the Quiksilver Pro & Roxy Pro surfing competitions.

Surfers Paradise is also well known for its great and varied nightlife which rages every night, coming to a spectacular climax when the SuperGP and the annual 'Schoolies' comes to town.
